My music is a natural, honest expression of who I am — through the flute, without pretence. That is the kind of music I want to keep making.
This year I finally released my long-awaited second CD: "AMETHYSTE — Love and Passion — Latin Music Nostalgia", celebrated with a live concert and signing at Ginza YAMAHA in August 2004.
Together with wonderful, generous musicians — piano: Toyoshima Hiroko, bass: Watanabe Takumi, guitar: Mizuguchi Masaaki, percussion: Yahiro Tomohiro — we created an original sound full of passionate Latin music (Brazilian collection and Piazzolla, world premiere recording).
2004 marked my 20th anniversary as a performer. I celebrated with a Special Dinner Show at Nakano Sunplaza in Tokyo.
I think back to my 15th anniversary recital on a snowy January 15, 1998 (Tsuda Hall), and the release of my first CD "French Music — Light, Wind and Colour" (recorded in Paris) — time passes in a whirl.
Over the years I have experienced countless meetings and farewells around the world, and many ups and downs in my personal life. That I have been able to keep performing through it all is entirely thanks to each and every one of you who has encouraged and supported me.
I am filled with heartfelt gratitude.
A "thank you" so deep that words cannot fully express it.
Treasuring every single concert, I pray with all my heart that my message — "Love and Passion" — may bring a little simple happiness and peace to each of you.
Finally — reach out a hand of love to every person in the world.
"I pray from the bottom of my soul for peace throughout the world."
